WINONA MAIN STREET PROGRAM
What the Main Street Program
is all about.
The Winona Main Street Program, a partnership between the Winona Chamber of Commerce and the City of Winona, is a nationally accredited program focused on the revitalization of downtown Winona, Minnesota. Since its inception in 2013, the Winona Main Street Program has supported business growth, development, events, and residential life in downtown.
Main Street's 3 Year Plan (2024-2026)
In November of 2023 members from the Main Street Program committees, employees from the City of Winona and Port Authority, Downtown stakeholders, and community members met and discussed what the Main Street Program will focus on for the next three years as we move into the next chapter of Downtown Winona. After several hours we narrowed the focus down to two "Transformation Strategies."
WORKERS & RESIDENTS
Make downtown a more appealing place for workers and residents to spend time after work by focusing on beautification efforts and improving the overall aesthetic of downtown.
DINING & NIGHTLIFE
Increase downtown foot traffic between the hours of 5 and 9pm on weekdays by growing the number of businesses that stay open past 5pm, and increasing/
diversifying the amount of dining options available
